Brittany Ferry Strikes French ferry company
November 28, 2012 Came across this article today. Lesson learned. Couple leaving Santander were told to leave from Calais because of the strike. This involved a two day car trip, two nights hotel accommodation and cutting holiday essentially by two days.
Brittany Ferry paid for fuel, tolls and the P & O Ferry. Travel insurance company Ageas refused to pay for hotel!
Needless to say when reporter from This is Money called issue was quickly resolved.

get your act together. Belgian railway strike, this week. Will effect Eurostar. Perhaps you can make some extra money.

Saturday 29 September 2012 All parties met today. Workers ready to go back to work. Company will not start up again till workers sign a contract. Company now faces bankruptcy. Customers with car ferry tickets still being asked to go to Cherbourg and take rival ferry company.

Tuesday 25 September, meetings held again today. Still no deal made. Company can not resume service.

Monday 24 September Talks fruitless over the week-end. Strike still going on and company re-iterates don't call us.

21 September 2012 8:30 PM tonight Brittany Ferry put out a press release. Poole to Cherbourg passengers service is running and is operated by Condors Ferry service. Brittany Ferry has been trying to contact you. Call them if they haven't contacted you yet. Talks with unions are planned this week-end
Brittany Ferry recommend you:-Just go, no need to call them. Just turn up with your booking ID.
Travel to Dover where they currently have special arrangements in place with P&O Ferries and MyFerryLink to accept Brittany Ferries tickets. Unused Brittany Ferries crossings will be refunded.
